Chandra Nath - Founder and President: Dr. Nath is the Co-Founder and CTO of Maijker Corp., a Purdue spin-off located in West Lafayette, IN, USA. He is also a Visiting Scholar at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. Prior, he was a Researcher at Hitachi America, Ltd. R&D Division, Farmington Hills, MI, USA since Nov, 2015. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia from 2014-15, a Post Doctorate Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Urbana, Illinois, USA (2011-14), a Lecturer at UIUC (2013-14), and an Assistant Research Scientist at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Singapore (2009-11). He received a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2009, and a B.Sc. degree from BUET, Bangladesh, both in Mechanical Engineering. He was also a Lecturer in ME Department, CUET, Chittagong in 2005. His HSC was in 1997.
 

Md Munirul Haque (Sunny) - Secretary: Dr. Haque is an Assistant Professor at Butler University, IN, USA. Prior, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Indianapolis, IN, USA. He was a Research Scientist at the Purdue University, Indiana, USA (2014-19). He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Albama at Birmingham, Alabama, USA (2013-14). He received a Ph.D. and an MS in Computational Science from the Marquette University, Wisconsin, USA in 2012, and 2007, respectively. In 2004, he received a B.Sc. degree in CSE from BUET, Bangladesh. Munir had several prior appointments including Lecturer at the BRAC University, Software Engineer at SSDTech, and System Engineer at Grameen Phone in Bangladesh. His HSC was also in 1997.    

Md Atiqur Rahman Bhuiyan (Shajib) - Director: Dr. Bhuiyan is a Material Scientist at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. from July, 2015. Prior, he was a Research Scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA from August 2013 - April 2015. He received a Ph.D. in from the same institute in 2013, and a MS from the Tuskegee University, Albama in 2007, both in Mechanical Engineering. Prior, in 2005, he received a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from BUET, Bangladesh, and worked as a Lecturer at the Military Institute of Science and Technology, Dhaka from 2005-06. His HSC was in 1999.

Mainul Mizan - Director: Currently working as a Software Engineer in Microsoft. He graduated in CSE from BUET (B.Sc.) in 2008 and University of Alabama, Birmingham (M.Sc.) in 2013. He has work experience in many big companies including Amazon, Cisco, REVE, Eyeball Networks. He is going to take a big responsibility on our accounting, mainly to develop a unique software system for our accounting works. As the foundation grows up a lot, it has become difficult to manage. So, he will take a lead to make it easy for us in coming days.

Ahsanur Rahman - Treasurer: An alumni of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in EEE and the University of Oklahoma in Industrial Engineering, is currently a Data Scientist at Edward Jones, MO. He came across Ericsson, Caterpillar, Ranks Telecom, among others.

Farzana Kabir - Officer: A former EEE graduate from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), is a Ph.D candidate at the University of California, Riverside, CA.

 

Mohammad Sayem Bin Abdullah - Officer: graduated from BUET with a B.Sc. Engg Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and currently an MS candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington, Vancouver, WA.

 

Shafkat Ahmed - Officer: graduated from BUET and is going to finish his MS from the University of Toledo, OH, both in Mechanical Engineering.

Mohammad Jobayer Hossain - Officer: A Ph.D. candidate at the University of Central Florida. He graduated in 2012 KUET, Bangladesh in 2012. He holds an MS in ECE from the Tennessee Technological University in 2016.

Md Mostofa Ali Patwary (Uzzal) - Director: Dr. Patwary is currently working as a Senior Research Scientist at NVidia, located in CA, USA.  

 

Dr. Patwary served the foundation from the very first day in Nov, 2013. He spent hours and hours over phone or face-to-face meetings to discuss about the move of the foundation going forward. His high dedication was superior while handling very high workloads during his busy days. He independently handled many Natural Disaster Aid programs including floods, winters. He spent countless hours to interview students and in their selection process. The MMJ Foundation will always be indebted to him!

Sub-Committee:

Rajib Roy - Officer: a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wyoming (UW), Laramie since Aug, 2013. He graduated with a B.Sc. from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2009, and M.Sc. from the University of Wyoming in 2017, both the mechanical engineering. In the past, Rajib worked as an Apprentice Engineer at the Venture Energy Sources Ltd., Bhola, Bangladesh (in 2010), Mechanical Engineer at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Bangladesh (2010-13). Apart from academic and professional works, Rajib is also highly engaged with many voluntary activities on his current campus. He volunteered as a Secretary (spring 2014), Vice-President (Spring 2017), and is now serving as the President. Their Bangladeshi Student Organization at UW regularly help the MMJ Foundation by generous collective funds.

Mohammad Jobayer Hossain - Officer: A Ph.D. candidate in Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida, FL since Aug, 2016. He graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in Jul, 2012. He hold an MS in ECE from the Tennessee Technological University in 2016. He has three years of professional job experience in Bangladesh before joining the MS program in 2015. Jobayer has a long experience of volunteering in different communities and campus-based organizations since 2010. He also has been a good helping hand as an unofficial Volunteer for the MMJ Foundation in last few years.

Arnob Banik - Officer: Arnob Banik is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Akron, OH since Aug 2017. He graduated in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from BUET in 2016. He served as a Junior Mechanical Engineer at Group QA in Bangladesh before coming to USA for higher study.

Saif Khan Alen - Officer: Pursuing his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Alen graduated in ME from BUET (B.Sc.). He has experiences both in academia (BUET Sonargaon Uni) and industry (British American Tobacco and GE Power in Bangladesh).

Nasir Uddin Eisty - Officer: Currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. He graduated in CSE from RUET (B.Sc.) in 2014. He previously worked as a Lecturer in Daffodil International University in Bangladesh.

Rehena Tabassum (Shukti) - Public Relations Officer: After graduating in CSE from BUET (B.Sc.) in 2008 and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (M.Sc.) in 2013, she started working in Oracle as a Software Developer in 2014. She works in academia and companies in Bangladesh and USA. Shukti has high interests to devote herself in humanitarian works and had received some such experiences. Her dedication would be more towards girls' education and public networking.

Ahsan Arefin (Sunny) - Director and Treasurer: Dr. Arefin is a Research Engineer at Google, Inc. Prior, he was a Research and Development Engineer at Microsoft located in Seattle, Washington, USA from August 2013 - July 2015. In Fall 2013, he received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Urbana, Illinois, USA. Prior, in 2006, he received a B.Sc. degree in CSE from BUET, Bangladesh, and worked as a Lecturer at the Islamic University of Technology in Gazipur from 2006-07. His HSC was in 2000.

 

 

Shantonu Hossain - Public Relations Officer: Ms. Shantonu Hossain is a HPC Software Engineer at Intel Corporation located in Hillsboro, Oregon since October, 2014. Prior, she was appointed as a Software Engineer at Ultramain Systems Inc., Albuquerque, NM (2013-14). She also worked as a Software Engineer at Spectrum Engineering Consortium Ltd., Dhaka, Bangladesh (2006-08). Shantonu graduated with two MS degrees - one in Computer Science from University of Rochester, Rochester, New York in 2013, and one in Computer and Information Science and Technology from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA in 2010. Prior, in 2007, she received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from BUET, Bangladesh. Her HSC was in 2001.

[Dr. Ashraf is a Software Engineer at Google located in Mountain View, California since 2014. In Spring 2013, she received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Urbana, Illinois, USA. Prior, in 2006, she received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from BUET, Bangladesh, and then moved to UIUC as a graduate student. Her HSC was in 2000.]

     

 

Ground Soldiers in Bangladesh:

Nasreen Baqui: She is a founder of Nurture Foundation (http://nurturebd.org/) located in Chittagong. She is a great social worker, dedicated most of her time to underprivileged and talented students for education and poor people to help out with medication. All services she does are free. She has a lot of great achievements through such works and has a lot of international connections for executing her plan and objectives. She was in media for numerous times based on her social activities. She participated a lot in our projects like helping blind students in Chittagong, and Muniya's project (Muniya was a burn victim in 2013). We are very glad and proud to get her in our team. 

 

Mohib Nirob (Nirob): Mohib is an Oncologist, serving as a Medical Officer for the Bangladesh Health Sector. His current appointment is in Mymensingh. He graduated with an MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College and Hospital in 2013, and then was a Medical Intern at BSMMU. He also had past appointment with Jamuna Television. He is the Editor of Bangladesh's first online newspaper for Doctors. During Muniya's case, he helped a lot working with our other volunteers in DMCH. He is still active with us, and provides suggestions despite residing in a regional district.

Md. Mazadur Rahman (Masum): Masum is a great administrator, volunteer, a very dedicated worker for the foundation. I think I cannot really include everything about him. You get to see a lot of updates of activities from his posts on our page. Without him, it was impossible to get all ground works done in Bangladesh. We indeed are very proud of him. Masum will be graduating soon in Mechanical Engineering from BUET in 2015/16. I hope he will continue to supporting us in future where ever he heads out. His HSC was in 2009.

      
Md Sajadur Rahman (Saju): Saju another great volunteer, ground soldier, and silent worker working with Masum. His contributions for the foundation are tremendous and greatly appreciated. Saju is also graduating in Civil Engineering from BUET in 2016/17. His HSC was in 2010.

 

Ashraful Islam (Ashraf): Ashraf is another great volunteer, ground soldier, and silent worker working with Masum. His contributions for the foundation are greatly appreciated. Ashraf is also graduating in Mechanical Engineering from BUET in 2015/16. His HSC was in 2009.
